Meet some more of my family!

I have mentioned some family members in other blogs but realized there are many others to introduce to everyone. So I am trying to include all of Ellison's family eventually on this blog because they all mean so much to us! Here are a few more pictures but there are still Great aunts, uncles and cousins missing. They all are still working on names to be called of course so what I am calling them isn't necessarily what Ellison will call them...

GJ and Grandpa (my parents)

Grandma Mac (Connor's mom)

Great Meme and Papa (Connor's grandparents)

Grandpa T and Jen (Connor's dad and his wife)

Uncle Ben and Aunt Heather (Connor's brother and his wife)

A Great Weekend!

The weekend went by SO fast! It was a fun one though. Ellison got to meet our very dear friends for the first time which we are honored to say are her Godparents- Griffin and (soon to be) Diana Myers. Connor basically grew up with Griffin and his family. The Myers consider Connor to be a son of their own. We spent a lot of time visiting with all of them. My brother (Ellison's Uncle Jeff) was also in town over the weekend. He spent the night with us last night and had some quality Uncle/Niece time today while I ran an errand and tried to get some stuff done around the house. One other exciting discovery is Ellison weighs a little over 10 lbs. We don't know an accurate weight but we know she is as least at the 10 pound mark. I am busy studying this week- I take the last section of my teacher certification (PRAXIS) this Saturday. Please wish me luck! Have a beautiful Monday afternoon and evening...

What a week!

We wanted to check in before the weekend because it is going to be a busy one! This week has flown by and was busy. I took Ellison to my work on Tuesday to visit my friends and co-workers from the Child Life Department and Surgery area. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous the past couple of days so we have spent time taking walks in our neighborhood with our neighbor friends and babies. Yesterday we had the pleasure of having Ellison's great grandparents (Nan and Claude-picture above) come to visit. They brought lunch, played with Ellison and helped me do some chores around the house (mainly laundry and ironing since I can't ever get caught up with that)- it was very helpful and appreciated. Ellison also turned 5 weeks old yesterday! Today around lunch time, Ellison and I are going to visit our friend Robin and her son Thomas (he is 7 months old). We should be spending some more time outside because it is SO pretty. We have a busy weekend ahead of us with family and friends so we will update Monday! Have a beautiful weekend everyone!

1 month old!

Yesterday (Sunday) Ellison turned 1 month old! We can't believe 1 whole month has already passed us by. We had a great weekend together. Saturday we woke up really early because our neighborhood was having a garage sale. We did not participate but we walked around the whole neighborhood for about 2 hours. We had luck with some purchases and actually made some new friends (including Ellison). We were able to do stuff around the house and outside in the yard. Connor and I were able to run out for some dinner Saturday night while Connor's mother watched Ellison. Last night we decided to attempt letting Ellison sleep in her room in her crib. She was such a big girl- once she went down around 10:30 (which was a little bit of a fight) she slept till 2:15 and was ready eat then went back down till 6:00. I of course woke up every 2 hours and would check on her because she wasn't in the room with us. She did awesome- however we expect her to sneak back into our room on occassions depending on the agenda she has planned for us. At least we know she can sleep in her crib well and be okay with it. We are looking forward to more visits this week and a fun upcoming weekend! I am including 1 month old pictures of Miss Ellison AND we discovered that Ellison really enjoys dancing with her daddy when she is feeling fussy...enjoy!

Ellison the Dancing Queen!

video

Connor and I were playing with Ellison last night and not only did we discover she has very strong leg muscles but she has some GREAT dance moves (click video above-the best is towards the end of the video so be patient).

We went to Columbia this past Sunday to celebrate Ellison's Aunt Sarah and Uncle Ben's birthdays. It was a full day of visits but Ellison did so good. She also met her Great Grandmother Mama Doris for the first time. They were precious together...

We are enjoying a relaxing day at home today. Ellison has done well the past couple of nights- she consistently has been waking up exactly every 3 hours to eat during the night and goes right back to sleep afterwards. We don't have much else to report on. Everyone have a great Tuesday!

Another week has passed...

Well, Ellison turned 3 weeks old yesterday! Once again I can't believe how fast time flies. Next Sunday she will be 1 month old and I feel like we just met her for the first time yesterday. Ellison is doing really well, we had a great night last night as far as sleep goes. She had a couple of 3-3 1/2 hour stretches. We ate dinner last night at our neighbor's house- they have 5 precious children and they all adore Ellison. I was able to get out alone yesterday to get my hair cut while Connor's mom stayed with Ellison at home. Tonight Connor and I are having a quick date night out to dinner while my parents hang out with Ellison. It is SO nice having family so close to take turns babysitting Ellison so Connor and I can do things. It is still hard to have a lot of time out though because of feedings but it is getting easier. This weekend we are making our first trip to Columbia to visit Connor's family and celebrate his brother and sister's birthdays! I hope everyone is doing well and for most of you I hope you are staying dry with all this awful rain. I am so ready for the pretty Spring weather so we can get out of the house more. Have a good weekend and we will update soon!
