Catch up!

It has been a couple of weeks since I updated the blog. A lot has been going on and our schedules just seem to remain busy! Over the past couple of weeks Ellison has been sleeping through the night (8-9 hour stretches), she had her 2 month check up and shots :( (mommy cried more than she did), Ellison rolled over from back to belly for the first time in her crib with mommy AND daddy watching, she had her first girls lunch out, attended more parties/cookouts (we love summertime!), and visited with family and friends. This week and weekend will be super busy- she is getting baptized on Sunday so we have lots of family coming in town for it and then having a big lunch at our house afterwards. Here are a few pics from the past couple of weeks!

My First Mother's Day!

We had a lot that went on this past week and weekend. Ellison and I went shopping with Great Grandmother Nan, we went to feed the ducks at the lake with our neighbors, we attended a Cinco de Mayo party at our neighbors and we had visitors including Aunt Sarah, Uncle Jeff and the Cantrell Family. Connor and I were able to have a date to the movies while grandparents and Uncle Jeff babysat Ellison. Saturday evening we attended a party in Nashville where Ellison met the Cantrell Family for the first time. They are definitely like family to us and they just adored Miss Ellison. Yesterday for Mother's Day we went to church, ate brunch at my parent's house and then spent the afternoon just the three of us. It was a very nice day and I greatly appreciate everything Connor and Ellison did to make my first Mother's Day special. I am including quite a few pictures to show what all has been happening this past week and weekend. We will update again soon!

Bait the hook, cast the line and reel it in!

We had a great weekend and it was beautiful weather! Saturday we basically spent the whole day shopping for Ellison's Baptism dress. After hours of looking and disagreeing- Connor and I compromised and found a beautiful gown at the Little Cottage in the Factory of Franklin.

It is quite an adventure having a 7 week old sit still and cooperate while trying on delicate (did I mention expensive!) white gowns without stressing too much about her spitting up or pooping all over them.

Yesterday was a big day for Ellison. We finally got ourselves together early enough to make it to church for the first time since Ellison has come home. We timed everything right to where she was able to sleep peacefully through the whole service. When we got home the weather was just irresistable so we headed to the lake where Connor gave Ellison her first fishing lesson. She is already a pro because she helped both Connor and myself catch something. Connor and Ellison practiced baiting the hook, casting the line and reeling it in till it was permanently ingrained in our 7 week old's head. We had so much fun as a family doing something that we love and enjoy. We have another busy week ahead of us, I don't think things will slow down for a while. I am looking forward to celebrating my first Mother's Day next weekend with my husband and daughter! Hope everyone has a great week!

What a big girl!

So this week went by so fast once again! Ellison celebrated turning 7 weeks old yesterday by sleeping through the night for the first time last night!!! She slept for a whole 8 hour stretch- Connor woke up at 4am frantic because neither one of us realized how much time had passed and that we had not heard a peep from her since bedtime which was 9:15pm. He rushed to her room to check on her- of course she was sleeping like an angel. She did not wake up for the first time till 5:30 this morning. I fed her and she went back down and is still sleeping (it is 9:00am right now). Either she is a big girl or just a major sleepy head :) Either way- Connor and I are so proud of her and know we must be doing something right. Yesterday, Ellison and I spent some fun time with our neighbors Aimee and her baby Bryson (pictures above). We also went to my parents house last night to celebrate Ellison's great grandpa Claude's birthday. Ellison met my teacher family at Oak View earlier this week (that is where I am completing my student teaching this upcoming Fall). Tonight- I have girls night with the neighborhood mommies while all the daddies are going to stay at home (our house actually) and babysit baby monitors. Our weekend isn't too full of plans but one goal is to shop for Ellison's Baptism dress and make an attempt at taking her to church for the first time. Well enough blabbing from my end- sleeping beauty is starting to stir. Everyone have a beautiful weekend!
