A New Week...

Our weekend was full of laziness, laziness and more laziness. I was trying to relax and get better which I think I finally am. Connor took Ellison out for awhile on Saturday to take a stroll in downtown Franklin. They returned with some goodies for mommy that included tea, a gourmet cupcake and a bag of herbal cure for a stuffy head (so sweet!). Some of Ellison's new discoveries include clapping her hands and rubbing the top of her head. She also loves to eat bread and cottage cheese! Last night we decided to retire the baby bath tub and now she is taking a bath in the big normal tub in her bathroom. She liked being able to move around more in it. We will return to W.E.E. Care tomorrow which will be good for her to get a change of scenery and out of this house. We also want to say CONGRATULATIONS to Uncle Jeff...he just accepted a position working for United Airlines in Chicago. We are going to miss him tons but are very excited about visiting him in the Windy City! We hope everyone had a great weekend!

Checking in...

I just wanted to send a quick update, I took Ellison to the doctor earlier this week and it ended up she had double ear infections. Of course this did not even phase Ellison. She has remained her normal, happy, go lucky, sleep through the night, no fussiness self. We have her on a antibiotic twice a day. As for me, I am just a mess. I actually am feeling a little better this morning. Basically my symptoms include an ear infection, drainage from my eye, a hacking non-stop cough, my voice is totally gone, my nose either drains non-stop or it is completely stuffy and I feel like I swallow razor blades. The cough is the worse at night time (the past 3 nights I have slept on the couch and probably estimate about 3 hours of actual sleep). BUT this morning my sore throat is gone and my ear feels better. That is a step in the right direction. I have some good meds I am taking so hopefully by the start of the weekend I will be ready to get out of the house (I have been living in my PJ's for the past 3 days). Of course I did not go to work this morning, which feels weird since I only work 2 days a week anyway. Thank you to my family who has been helping out! I will update again later this weekend...

No sickness is going to ruin Ellison's weekend!

Ellison has had a cold all weekend long. It started with some nasty eye drainage, then ran through her nose, then into her chest and now she is just coughing all the yucky stuff out. She is one trooper though because she has slept through the night (like she always does) her mood and attitude have been very playful and happy all weekend long. That is typical Ellison...we are blessed with a very easy going content baby! Here are some pictures from a fun Sunday playing around the house...

Happy 10 months Sweet Ellison!

Today Miss Ellison is 10 months old (at 3:54 to be exact)! I can't even begin to put into words what these past 10 months have meant to me. Ellison is an absolute joy and could not be a better baby. She has made parenthood seem so easy (but I like to think Connor and I had a little to do with that :). I can't believe we will be celebrating her first birthday in just 2 months (I have already started planning the big day!).

Ellison is...
- Pulling up

- Standing with the support of holding on to something

- Starting to cruise along low tables

- Will take steps when holding onto someone's finger (some steps are coordinated and some aren't)

- Has her 3rd tooth coming in (top middle)

- Says and waves "bye bye"

- Catches her "bumble bee" (Aunt Sarah will appreciate this one)

- Her hair is growing slowly but surely

- She still is not crawling but she does move around I just don't know how to describe her mode of transportation...

Happy 10 months baby girl...mommy and daddy are so proud of you and we love you so much!

You are my Sunshine!

Today when Connor got home we took Ellison for her first official ride in her new red wagon and went to the park in our neighborhood! It was so pretty outside in the much needed sunshine. Ellison had a good time!

Family Photo Christmas 2008
I just wanted to dedicate this post to my awesome and committed family. For the past several days my grandmother has been in the hospital recovering from a horrible intestinal virus which has been carried on to my grandfather as well. Along with the usual side effects of a typical tummy virus there was severe dehydration which lead to hallucinations and very out of sort thinking. Needless to say my grandmother is on her road to recovery, however my grandfather is battling with it at home. My brother and mother have been tag teaming it in between staying with my grandmother at the hospital, checking in with my grandfather at home, working several hours at a time and catching a few snooze in between. My Uncle is on his way in town from California tomorrow to help out for a few days. I feel helpless but have to take care of my precious little one- I don't want to take the chance of being exposed to anything. I just can tell through the phone conversations I have had with family over the past several days that everyone is truly exhausted! So I just want all of them to know that I am thinking about them, I love them all so much, I am so thankful for their commitment to each other and for doing what families are suppose to do for each other. I am one very lucky and blessed daughter, sister, granddaughter, neice, mother and wife!

Ellison rules the house...

Ellison decided she wanted to do this at 5:45am this morning...

It has been too good to be true the past...oh 6 months (literally) with her sleeping from 7:30 til at least 7am or later. We were due for an off morning...

Growing up...

Just thought I would share this moment of Ellison growing up even more. She is now enjoying finger food along with her baby food. She LOVES greens (peas & green beans). She also eats carrots, bits of peaches and banana. She is also loving her sippy cup with very diluted apple juice. I am finding her eating habits hard at this stage because it is based on just experimenting with different things plus she is showing signs of being picky with what she will eat. On top of all that I am SUPER paranoid and scared about her choking on something. With all of that said I probably should have introduced the finger/table foods awhile back but better late than never!
