Our weekend has been quite productive so far! Yesterday (Friday) was spent visiting with my grandparents, ate lunch at J. Alexander's with Ellison's T-daddy and Jen then we spent the afternoon doing stuff around the house. Last night Ellison developed a little tummy bug virus. We talked to her doctor over the phone and got her all situated. She is much better now, it lasted about 12 hours. This morning we went to the Franklin Farmer's Market and ran a few errands. The rest of the day was spent at home doing house projects and chores. Ellison had a great time playing outside in the gorgeous weather. We went to dinner with my family tonight at Puckett's (yum!). Now we are taking it easy and I have to get my house ready for a Kelly's Kids Clothing Party that I am hosting tomorrow afternoon (please stop by between 2:30-5:30 if you are interested!).

So I am that mom who considers Ellison's first day in the toddler room at a Mother's Day Out program her actual first day of school! I took the camera with me and almost had a few tears. She did great! She was a little sad during the morning play time but once her class went outside she was her happy normal self. She ate well and she slept for 1 hour 15 minutes on her MAT (this is a big deal). I was sure she would have to be put in a pack n play but she laid right down on the mat, the teacher rubbed her head for just a minute, Ellison rolled onto her belly, stuck her cute little bum in the air, popped her thumb in her mouth with her burpie in hand and fell right to sleep. I am SO proud of my big girl! (By the way...my first day of teaching nine 3 year olds went good too :)

This week has been insane! So busy! We are so thrilled to have the weekend. After going back to work this week I have already learned to really appreciate the late afternoons and early evenings the 3 of us spend together before Ellison goes to bed. This week she has been a wild woman during that time. Connor and I have really enjoyed some play time with her. She has been full of energy and acting super silly. She dances and jumps when you ask her to which is the funniest thing. The other day she started pulling her shirt over her head and walking around, she was laughing like crazy at herself. She also got into a pack of markers, grabbed a piece of paper and fussed until I opened the markers for her. She has never really played with writing instruments (especially without the tops off). She knew exactly what to do and went to town scribbling on a piece of paper. She insisted on using every color in the pack. She is just so much fun at this age. She is putting together 2 word sentences, laughing hysterically at things, recognizing where things are and where they go (she will run to the fridge point and say cheese)...it is so amazing how she has gone from a helpless little ball of pure sweetness to a talking, walking, animated, smart, temper throwing, full of attitude, sassy, curious 17 month old (not even 2 years!). We are so in for it!

My decorated classroom door!
Connor, Ellison and I at WEE Care Open House!
At the Open House there was a carnival for the kids/students so Ellison got her first face painting...
This is how I cook dinner (with Ellison crawling all underneath me)
Last trip to the pool before the ending of summer :(
What a crazy week! We started back to work/WEE care this week so I have not been able to hardly sit for more than 5 minutes. We had our Open House tonight so Connor took Ellison around to meet her class & teachers while I met my students and parents! I have spent the past 3 days decorating and preparing my classroom. It has been fun to get in the teacher mode but exhausting at the same time! Here are a few pictures! I will try to update more this weekend. Have a great end of the week!

So I know writing myself a Happy Birthday blog entry is not really the correct thing to do. I just wanted to share what my birthday celebrations have consisted of! First of all I am VERY lucky to have such sweet and loving families and friends to celebrate with! Last weekend Connor surprised me with a wine tasting class at the Viking, I celebrated with my family at my parents house last weekend as well, last night Connor and I went to dinner with our great friends (Nikki and Josh) at Wild Ginger then today (my actual birthday) I spent time with Ellison this morning, went to lunch with my mom, grandmother and Ellison at Puckett's (where the WHOLE restaurant sang me Happy Birthday) then I spent the afternoon alone (my request...Connor took care of Ellison) while I did some window shopping at the mall and got a pedicure. Now Connor is making me a yummy dinner and dessert! It has been a great birthday and thank you to everyone who has made it so special! XOXO

Ellison's Aunt Sarah is student teaching this Fall in Williamson County. My mom works at the central office for the school system so my mom, Ellison and I decided to go visit Sarah at her school this morning! It was exciting to see Sarah's classroom and meet some of the staff. I am very excited for Sarah and know she will do a fabulous job! The kids start tomorrow so Ellison (and myself) would like to wish Aunt Sarah much luck tomorrow!

Our weekend was great but busy! Connor and I went out for my birthday on Friday night to a wine tasting class at The Viking. It was so fun, I would reccommend it to anyone! There was some shopping done on my behalf in honor of tax free weekend. There was a CoCoBonBon Children's Warehouse Sale and it was AMAZING. First of all I adore their clothes and the sale is incredible. The prices are such a bargain. So Ellison and I went, of course we had a lot of luck in finding great Fall items. My family had a birthday dinner for my brother and I on Saturday night. It was good food and great company (I can't believe I didn't take any pictures!). Then Sunday, Ellison and I made our way to Columbia to attend Aunt Carly's baby shower! Aunt Carly and Uncle Bo are expecting their first baby boy (Lee) in just a few weeks! We can't wait to meet him! So far this week we have had a couple of play dates and visits with friends. It is our last week before school starts so Ellison and I are just spending time together! Today we visited The Monkey's Tree House for the first time with my great friend Nikki and her two precious ones, Asher and Ava. The kids had a blast and was a great way to get their energy out! Some pictures are from Monkey's Tree House with our friends and the others are Little Gym with Uncle Jeff...

We have been productive/lazy this week. We have hardly left the house except to go to Little Gym and run some errands. I have been trying to regroup from our trip (laundry, cleaning, unpacking, etc.). I caught up with some of my mommy friends which was nice. Ellison's Aunt Sarah came to visit one night and we had a lot of fun! This weekend will be pretty busy for us. Tomorrow morning we have Little Gym and then we are meeting up with my mom and Grandmother to do a little shopping (Tax Free Weekend in case you didn't know). Tomorrow night Uncle Jeff comes in town to hang with Ellison while Connor and I have a early date night for my birthday. On Saturday we are celebrating Uncle Jeff's birthday and mine with my family. Then on Sunday, Ellison and I are going to a baby shower for Ellison's Aunt Carly. Baby Lee (Ellison's cousin) is due in just 1 month! We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
