The Zoo and Friends!

I know I am behind again! Last weekend we had fun just spending time together since we had not been with Ellison much the week before because of work. We took Ellison to the zoo and we had a blast (it is SO nice having the annual pass to the zoo). Ellison gets so excited as soon as we turn into the parking lot. Instead visiting all the animals, we spent more time playing in the jungle gym, playing in the water fountains and rode the carousel for the first time (now of course Ellison expects to ride it every time we are at the zoo :) Here are some pictures...

This past week has been fun and busy. Connor was out of town starting early Thursday morning and he just got back home yesterday. This was also my last week of babysitting! Now I have 3 weeks of vacation before I start back to school :) We played a lot with friends this week and we enjoyed some Sweet Cece's icecream with daddy before he left to go out of town...

Ellison and I had lots of time to spend together since daddy was out of town. So we did some shopping, we visited with my grandparents, spent the night with GJ and Poppy (my parents), mommy was able to hang out with some girlfriends (thank you GJ and Poppy for taking Ellison), went to church and on Saturday I took Ellison back to the zoo for Ice Day! It was tons of fun! We were there pretty much all of Saturday morning from as soon as the zoo opened till lunch.

Ice Day at the Zoo! The sign was already melting when we got there...the zoo had been opened just 5 minutes, I don't think it last long :)

She loves the alligators
Carousel ride again, this time on the lion! She kept saying "roar!"

Getting her face painted, she insisted! We waited in line for 45 minutes in the blazing sun. I just knew she wouldn't cooperate once it was our turn but I was SO wrong. She was so patient and when it was our turn she let go of my hand, turned around handed me her burpie (the most important object in her life!) got in the chair and told the lady, "I want lady bugs!" The lady loved her! So she gave Ellison some extra treatment with a sprinkle of fairy dust and a lady bug on her hand as well as her face :)
This picture is out of order but here we are headed home after a super fun morning :)

Checking out the fish...

Major catch up!

What a week! I am sorry for being so behind on updates but this week has been insane! I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to teach an enrichment camp this week at Oak View Elementary but I am so glad it is Friday and the my week is over :) Ellison has been bopping around from place to place and caregiver to caregiver all week long. I feel like I have hardly seen her but I am so thankful for the help from our families! Lets see here, Ellison spent Sunday night thru Tuesday afternoon in Columbia with Connor's mom (MeMac). They had a great time visiting with more family, going to see a play castle and just spending time together. Ellison stayed with us on Tuesday night then Wednesday morning my mom (GJ) took care of Ellison. They went shopping with my grandmother and of course had a ball :) Ellison stayed with my parents Wednesday night then yesterday my parents took Ellison to the Chattanooga Aquarium. She had an absolute blast! She loved everything she saw and had a hard time leaving the displays of beautiful fish, penguins and other wildlife. We finally had Ellison back home with us last night but then this morning her Aunt Sarah took her for the day. They are on their way back here to the house as I type this. I feel like I have not really seen Ellison for a whole week!

This weekend equals major family time for Connor, Ellison and myself. Tonight we are having Sarah (Connor's sister) and her boyfriend Danny over for dinner. Tomorrow Connor and I are taking Ellison to a berry farm to pick blueberries and peaches. Then tomorrow night we are having our great friends...The Ogle Family, over for dinner and fun playtime for the kids :) We may go to the zoo or swimming on Sunday, we aren't sure yet. Connor will be out of town all next weekend and then the next weekend Connor, Ellison and I (and Eli) are headed to Pasadena, CA for our vacation and a fun visit with my Uncle and his family! I cannot wait!!! So for now, the only pictures I have from this week are ones my parents took at the aquarium. I hope everyone had a great week and I will update more at the end of the weekend :)

Happy 4th of July!

Of course this long weekend has flown by us! We had a wonderful time with family and friends. On Friday, Ellison and I had a playdate with some of our friends at the Peek a Boo Playtown. Connor and his dad went canoeing for the whole afternoon and early evening. When they returned we made dinner for Connor's dad and enjoyed a meal out on our patio. We shared the big news about Baby Ball to all of his family that evening. Unfortunately we had to do most of it over the phone but everyone was very excited.

On Saturday, Ellison and I met up with my brother (Ellison's Uncle "GoGo") and we went out to run errands and then ate lunch & played at Chikfila. Ellison took a great nap while Connor and I got ready to have my whole family over for dinner at our house and the big gender reveal!
Ellison waiting for my family to arrive for dinner!

Playing with Googie (my Uncle) he was visiting from Pasadena, CA!

The great grandparents, Uncle, and grandparents with us, Ellison and Baby Eli :)

On Sunday we took Ellison to the 4th of July downtown festival. We spent a lot of time at the petting zoo which Ellison LOVED!
She looks like a little teenager with all her sassyness!

Our little firecracker ;)

On Sunday night we went over to our friends, The Ogles, for a yummy dinner, playtime and then we headed to downtown Franklin to watch the fireworks! After waiting patiently for the fireworks to begin at 9:30pm the kids started to have meltdowns so we just decided to pack them back up in the car and head home. We will try again next year for the fireworks!
