Church Egg Hunt and a Birthday Party!

After dance class we headed to our church for their annual Easter Egg Hunt! Ellison was very excited and was ready to hunt down some eggs :) There were activities in the fellowship hall, yummy snacks and then the egg hunt...

The kiddos...it will be easier next year when Elic is able to sit too (actually it probably won't b/c he will be mobile by then!)

After the egg hunt we went to celebrate Theo's 3rd birthday! Theo is a friend of Ellisons from school AND I taught his twin sisters last year when I was the 3 year old teacher. We love their family...we were able to catch up with LOTS of friends at the party. It was such a beautiful day for an outdoor celebration!

Dancing Queen!

This past Saturday morning was a special day at Ellison's dance class. All of the girls wore an Easter hat of some sort (something pretty and Springy). They also allowed parents in the room to watch a performance by the girls. Remembering that Ellison is only 3 years old, she is a sensitive girl who gets shy very easily! Well as soon as Connor and I entered the room she spent the first 5 minutes standing in place and sucking her thumb. Now every time we go to dance (we sit out in the waiting room with the other parents and watch the class on a TV screen) Ellison dances her heart out. She LOVES to dance. It honestly didn't surprise me that she sort of closed up when we were in the room (I totally did the same thing when I was younger). Eventually she did get into it and enjoyed showing off her skills...it was pretty cute to say the least and no matter what we were very proud parents of our precious dancing queen :)

As mentioned she stood very still sucking her thumb for the first 5 minutes...

 Isn't she so sweet looking?

I don't remember all of the correct ballet terms but this was her balancing...

Outside fun!

The weather this week has been warm and sunny! Several afternoon once daddy was home we spent time outside. Ellison helped daddy in the yard one day and kept busy for over an hour digging with her shovel in the dirt. This child makes me laugh...she is so girly (in her smocked dress that twirls) but can be so boy (digging in the dirt, sweating, excited to find bugs...)

Shoveling in style with her pink shovel!

We had lots of play dates this past week after school...one in particular we met up with one of mommies childhood friends, Ellen (who has Caroline-2 years old and Harris-7 months old). It was great to get the kids together for some play time at the park and to catch up!

Easter Egg Hunt at School!

Ellison had a Easter Party and Egg Hunt at her school! One of the many advantages of working at her school is I get to see and participate in the fun activities that my kids do in their classes :) The egg hunt was a hit...

 Happy girl!
So proud of her full basket of treats :)

After the egg hunt the classes all had Easter parties...the kids did Easter crafts, ate pizza and treats! It was a fun day :)

F-R-I-E-N-D-S

We have some really wonderful friends! This past Saturday night our dear friends, The Gore Family, invited us over for dinner. I teach with the mom, Lori (her hubby is Blake) and Ellison is friends with their girls (Ella-5 and Hattie-3). They (Ella and Hattie) are expecting a baby brother in about a month! We can't wait to meet little Caleb, especially so Elic can have a buddy :) We had such a fun time together...the girls were WILD and CRAZY! We literally all sat in the family room for 2 hours after dinner watching the girls horse around and we all laughed NON-STOP!
Sweet Ella getting some good practice holding Elic before her baby brother arrives!

Kids Music City Expo!

This past weekend we took the kids to the 1st Annual Kids Music City Expo! At first we weren't so sure about it but after a few minutes of scoping out what all was there it was totally worth the time and small admission price. We collected lots of information/brochures about a ton of kid stuff (camps, birthday party ideas, etc.). They had inflatables, the Purple Play Bus, a pirate ship play ground, face painting, princesses...) Ellison LOVED it all! We met up with some of our friends there but we hardly had time to chat with each other because the kids were running around all over the place...

Ellison was amazed there were princesses there...
She got a manicure...purple sparkle polish w/ polka dots! The girl loves having her nails done :)
 She got her face painted...
Totally admiring herself in the mirror...the nice lady even painted pink lipstick on her lips which Ellison LOVED!
Photo with the Easter Bunny :) She actually smiled which surprised me!
One happy girl :)
